Cleaning services is one of the sectors with the best growth prospects in our market, something that is now corroborated by the DBK consultancy in its report Cleaning Companies - Iberian Market, where it is estimated that 2022 will close with a rise of 4.8 %, up to 13,460 million euros, "while for the 2023-2024 biennium a slowdown in the rate of growth can be expected."
These figures are a continuation of the upward trend in a segment where turnover rebounded in 2021, "in a framework of economic recovery and good performance of industrial and business activity after the pandemic," say those responsible for the report. In this way, despite continuing to endure intense price competition, the volume of business experienced an increase of 5.5%, compared to the variation of 0.3% recorded in 2020, reaching 12,845 million euros. The value of the Spanish market grew by 5.4%, standing at 11.9 billion, while Portugal stood at 945 million, an interannual increase of 6.5%.
Another fact to underline is that in Spain and Portugal there are just over 40,000 companies dedicated to providing cleaning services, which represents an increase of nearly 11,500 in the last decade. The volume of employment generated, for its part, exceeds 600,000 workers, distributed in some 527,000 people for Spain and around 74,000 for Portugal.
On the other hand, the high degree of business atomization continues to characterize the structure of the offer, "in a context of predominance of small operators that operate in local and regional areas". From here, about 50% of the companies registered in Spain do not have workers, while about 95% of the total employ less than 20 people.
In this scenario, there are several franchises that focus their activity in some way on the universe of cleaning.
