These and other questions are what we will address this Thursday, March 14, in the first edition of The franchise as a driver of the local economy, an event developed by Emprendedores Magazine, in collaboration with the Oviedo City Council, through the Oviedo Emprende project, and the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Asturias. The event, which is held at the Talud de la Ería (C/ Virgilio Palacio, 1, Oviedo), seeks to present franchising as one of the most interesting avenues of entrepreneurship to promote – in a consistent way – the economic and social fabric of a city.

From here, we will bring together several franchises within some of the most consolidated and/or emerging sectors on the current scene.

Now we present to you the program of a day that will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and that will be articulated through two round tables, along with two express talks where we will share the current reality of the market and emerging trends.

11:00–11:20 a.m. Welcome and presentation
It includes a conversation between Alejandro Vesga, CEO and director of Emprendedores, and Leticia González, Government Councilor for Economy, Digital Transformation and Social Policies of the Oviedo City Council.

11:20–11:30 a.m. The franchise: here and now
Express talk in which we will share the current state of the franchise in Spain (number of brands, billing, most representative sectors, job creation, representation by autonomous communities...).

11:30–12:20h. Round table I. Ideas for starting a franchise
We bring together four chains around the table who will share their experience in the market, the history of their projects, the keys to carefully selecting a franchise, the competitive factors of their business models, expectations and projection of the sectors where they operate.

12:20-12:35h. Emerging opportunities
A tour of the trends and opportunities with more projection today in the chain.
